Job Summary

Internal

Inventory: Planning to make sure that SOC and Freight Forwarding containers can be made available to customers in time
Other BDMs: Coordinating with other colleagues for New Business Developments
Pricing: Making strong relationships that lead to quicker response time and competitive rates.
M&R: For repair & depot agreement (only when there is some dispute otherwise M&R team will take care of this function on day to day basis)

Developing Business Potential of the Region:
  • Conducting market analysis and identifying potential customers using various sources such as carriers, trade journals, networking insights and use those for actively helping the other agents in promoting the our products in the region.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate forecast and using the above market information for planning all strategies
  • Keeping informed on the new projects of different target customers companies so that our team can contact them for business.
  • To identify what is the products we can offer to customer based on regional needs and helping agents to communicate and reach out to customer on our unique offerings and special features of our product.
  • Collecting data from potential /existing customers and other sources on competitor moves, business lost to competitors, reasons and providing long term solutions to these issues under guidance from President Business Development.
  • Building strong relationships with the high value key accounts (existing/potential) in the region to enhance the revenue potential in coordination with the team.
Coordination for Business Execution including developing carrier relations and offering competitive quotations:
  • Developing relations with carriers in your region to make sure that we can negotiate competitive ocean freight for Own Containers (SOC) and FF also, we can get space for each of our cargo and containers.
  • Coordinating with pricing so that we can offer best economical prices to convert maximum possible leads from the region.
  • Helping the team with appropriate internal information and approvals in negotiations with shipping lines to finalize the sales deals with speed and effectiveness.
  • For export shipments: Coordinate with relevant multiple service providers locally and ensure to source the best competitive rates in the market. For DDU/ EXW shipments, need to source rates from multiple agents at the destination as well.
  • For import & cross-trade shipments: Coordinate with multiple agents in the country of shipment origin and ensure to source the best competitive rates in the market. For DDU/ EXW shipments, need to source rates from multiple agents at the destination as well.
  • Coordinating the tasks compliances of various internal teammates in CS, Inventory by offering guidance on trouble shooting and tracking the deal till completion.
  • Coordination with Corporate Inventory team for equipment planning and positioning, thus ensuring round-the-year equipment availability.
  • Coordination with other Country BDMs for sharing best practices, do’s and don’ts, generating cross leads if any.
  • Provide periodic updates and MIS reports to the Management.
  • Making sure that each of your region’s agency follow detail guidelines of the business including collecting detention and demurrage.
  • Ensuring appropriate processes to collect customer feedback periodically and use the information for improving service levels and customer relationships in the region.
Reporting and MIS for Business Decision making:
  • Preparing and submitting reports as per the company policies with details related to :
      • Monthly lead generation and booking from region
      • Booking projections and required Inventory projections
      • Client visit updates/customer feedback
      • Market intelligence/competition analysis reports
  • Submitting accurate information as per the management requirement and help the top team with own views, information and insights for accurate business decision making.
  • Providing customer feedback on our products and service levels to top management and help in taking decisions related to improvement.

  • Master’s degree or
    Post-Graduate
  • 3-5 years of
    experience in related freight forwarding covering Road (Import, Export, and Transit) shipments.
  • Product knowledge in shipping &
    Logistics.
  • Hands-on experience in forwarding and logistics.
  • Shipping market knowledge.
  • Knowledge of all segments such as FTL, LTL, FCL, LCL, transit, multimodal transportation, etc.
  • Problem-solving skills in the operational process.
  • Familiar with procedures/requirements.
  • Customer Service Oriented – moderate communication and people skills; energetic and enthusiastic
  • Proactive – takes the initiative to effectively anticipate the needs, handle the issues, and resolve the problems of internal and external customers.
    PC literate- good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel
